What a trio of cute rescue dogs!!!! Meet Millie, Charlie and Robbie! Millie is a 12-year-old wire-haired Dachshund. Charlie is also 12 and a long-haired Dachshund. Robbie is the newest member of the pack and is a six-year-old Chihuahua mix.
Mom Jamie fell in love with Robbie while volunteering at the SPCA of Wake County. He was rescued from a puppy mill and I actually had photographed him when he first came to the SPCA. Jamie says little Robbie wasn’t quite sure to what to make of his new rescued life. He sat in a corner mostly and wouldn’t play, but did eat well. A month later, he joined her family and now loves to run and play!
Next up is Millie (the wire-hair!). Jamie adopted Millie when she was a six-month old puppy. Her family gave her up after having children. Millie just seemed to put on a “pitiful” face so mom thought a buddy would cheer her up! Then came Charlie! Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue found him tied to a tree without food or water!! His hair was also matted.
Now they are living the great life with Jamie and Eric!
Here’s a look at Robbie when I photographed him in 2012 (and yes I did re-edit this photo. WOW I’ve come a long way!) He still has the same little pout!
