The CareFirst Series: Twiggy – Raleigh dog photographer

Oct 14, 2013

I am so excited to finally share this project and these photos with you all!  All this week you’ll have a chance to meet some of the amazing employees and their pets from CareFirst Animal Hospital‘s Oberlin clinic.  I teamed up with the clinic for a gallery display featuring four of their employees.  We met back in late August on a perfect evening and all of the dogs were so well-behaved!  There is also a cat in the group, but he was photographed at home!  I just hung some canvas prints and mounted prints at the clinic last Wednesday and am so excited with how they turned out!

First up on the blog is Twiggy and her mama Liz!  Twiggy is just the cutest little pup and I could have photographed them both all evening!  Twiggy is a six year old Feist mix and man oh man do these two have a great story. Obviously Liz an Twiggy are both big NC State fans and Twiggy likes to pretend she is Mrs. Wolf.  I love the photo of Liz and Twiggy howling together. They have quite the bond and totally understand each other with a single glance! Here’s what Liz had to say about how they met:

“I went to meet her in Wilson, NC after seeing her on Petfinder.com.  A lady pulled her from the local animal shelter on her last day before being euthanized. She walked right up to me and looked at me with those big brown eyes and huge ears. She then proceeded to sit down on my feet. I smiled so wide that I turned to the lady and handed her a check for the adoption fee. My little rescue has been a true blessing in my life and continues to bring me joy ever since the day we saved one another.”
