I love this couple and of course their beautiful dogs! I first photographed Erica and Tula a year an a half ago. It was a surprise for her husband Dan! We were able to meet up again this spring for a full family session!
Tula (standing in this first photo) is nine years old. She is now battling degenerative myelopathy and has trouble with her back legs. She’s been doing therapy for 12 weeks to help keep her from losing her muscle tone so quickly. She did pretty well during the shoot and still had her perky happy attitude. Ruger is almost seven years old. Dan and Erica adopted him when we was just two years old from Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue. It was just four months after he had his amputation surgery.
I love the lighting in these photos so much and am happy we were able to get all four together for a shoot this year! Erica is also the creator of Port & Starbird, a cute design shop for babies and kids! Check out her store on Etsy.
I love this photo below! I kept trying to figure out how the sun made such a funny glare on the lens. Then I figured out…it was dog slobber! Still, I love this sweet moment and couldn’t not keep this photo!
