Grace the pit bull – Rescued and thriving

Sep 2, 2014

Grace is a thriving three-year-old pit bull rescued from the Wake County Animal Shelter in Raleigh, NC.  I first met Kelly a few years ago through the SPCA of Wake County.  Kelly has such a great big heart and to say that she is madly in love with Grace would be an understatement.  These two are a perfect pair and with one look you can see they were meant to be together!

Kelly wanted to get a special photograph of her tattoo (from Mad Ethel’s Tattoo Shop) and Grace.  We had a lot of fun experimenting with the shots and I just adore how they turned out!  Kelly and I both think this very first photo is our favorite of the shoot!  I’m so glad Kelly ordered this as a metal print! Those eyes Grace has just touches your heart! Oh what a sweet girl and lovely mom!

Mom Kelly tells their story best: “Grace is a rescue and I found her at the Wake County Animal Center. She came in as a stray, and I saw her photo the day they posted it. She was one half the weight she should have been, had whip worm and was heart worm positive. She looked terrified and sad, but also looked as though she was pleading for someone to help her. She was marked rescue or foster only because of her condition, so she was not available for adoption. I contacted the foster coordinator as well as a WCAC volunteer to let them know I definitely wanted to adopt her if a foster could be found. I thank God that someone stepped up to foster her until she was healthy enough to be adopted. I cried when I met her and two weeks later she was in my arms- my sweet Grace.”
