The Golden Guys – 2016 pet portrait session

Jan 23, 2017

Golden Retriever lovers unite and squeal with delight at this blog post!  Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR Golden Retrievers!  Oh how I love these boys!

Mom Wendy is a volunteer with Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue and a foster for them.  She and the pups recently moved to a new state and now the pups enjoys snowy winters and frolicking in the snow! Well, since many of them are older, they just like to walk around in it. 🙂

Meet the Boys:

Wendy says, “Beau (6yrs) was rescued from NRGRR in Raleigh. He is the only dog that I have fostered that I adopted. Chase (15yrs – in the first photo) and Teddy (11yrs) were adopted from Adopt a Golden Atlanta because they were special needs and difficult to adopt out to a normal family. Freddy (10yrs) was adopted from AGA in November of 2015 and came all of the way to America from Istanbul, Turkey, where he had been living on the streets without a home for most of his life. He has some chronic medical challenges because of his previous living conditions. Goldens with special needs are my absolute favorite kids!”

Scroll to the bottom for a look behind the scenes video of how eager most of the dogs were for their close-ups!

Wendy has fostered and loved many dogs over the years.  She spread the ashes of some of those dogs that have crossed the rainbow bridge at the base of this tree.  Her boy Beau will take all the doggy toys and leave them at the base of the tree.  It’s his little way of saying “we have not forgotten you sweet pups. Here are some toys just in case you need a few extra in doggie Heaven.”

A local student came with me to the session who is interested in video production. She put together this video of our session. Sometimes you just have to climb into the bushes to get “the shot.”
