Giving Back: Holiday photo booths for the dogs

Oct 6, 2022

Each morning I wake up and grab my cup of coffee and snuggle my kids on the couch. Baxter sits at our feet and my son usually covers him up with his blanket and offers Baxter a pillow. These are my favorite moments. The love. The snuggles. The warmth. The joy.

As the holiday season approaches, I can’t help but think about how thankful I am for these simple moments together. The love my kids show to Baxter and his patience with their insistence on being snuggled drives me to help other pets and families have this same experience.

That is why this holiday season, I’m giving back in four specific ways to local animal rescue groups.

  1. I’ve donated a special portrait package for Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue‘s Golden Gala silent auction. This package includes a photo session for up to six people and pets AND your choice of five digital files (a $799 value) or $500 print credit. The event is the same day as my holiday mini sessions so I was unable to emcee this year, BUT…I did help secure one of my WRAL TV friends who is a golden dog dad and he will be there!
  2. Beaglefest Photo Booth– I’ve lost count now of how many years I’ve hosted a fall photo booth at this event for Triangle Beagle Rescue. Come join us Saturday, October 15th at Lonerider Hideout in Wake Forest. It’s just $10 for a spot in the photo booth. You will receive a social-media-sized image after the event. Hi-res digital files are available for just $10 for the week after the event and all proceeds go to TBR!
  3. Photos with Santa Paws – This is another amazing photo booth that I host each year with Triangle Beagle Rescue. Your pups get on the “Nice List” by sweet-talking Santa and helping other pups find their forever homes. Last year, I also donated an extra dollar for every dog who came to see Santa. I photographed 101 dogs and we raised more than $1500 with the photo booth. This year’s event is Saturday, December 3rd at Vicious Fishes in Apex, NC.
  4. Photographing adoptable animals for local rescues – I primarily volunteer with Triangle Beagle Rescue and the SPCA of Wake County to photograph adoptable pups and kitties. I am looking to add at least one more rescue group to the mix to help in the new year directly with photography of animals in foster care.
