Carla and Chris’s baseball themed engagement shoot – Durham Bulls Athletic Park

Feb 24, 2016

Pinch me! Pinch me!  This did actually happen right?  Doing an engagement session inside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park?  I have photographed Chris’s mom and her husband and fur kids several times.  Now it was time to photograph her two-legged son and his beautiful and bubbly fiance Carla!  I was so thrilled to work with them and we hit it off immediately on the phone.  In one of their first emails, they said that they would love to shoot at the Bulls Stadium, but since that probably would never happen…  Well, it did happen!  We received special permission for their engagement session that was of course, baseball themed!  To say they are huge baseball and Bulls fans would be an understatement.  Throw in two completely relaxed, fun and go-with-the-flow people, a rescue dog that is beyond behaved and adorable and a fantastic theme and location and you have magic!

We had so many ideas I was hoping we could fit them all in!  I do looooove the Big League Chew bubble brawl at the end!

Manny is a 5-year-old German Shepherd mix.  Oh I love him! Those ears! That smile! Those eyes!  Carla says it was his eyes that told her he was “the one.”  (I wonder if that’s the same way she knew Chris was also “the one?”)  Manny was abused and dumped on the side of the road as a puppy. He found his way to a shelter where he stayed for a year without any adopters.  He was set to be euthanized when a woman stepped in to give him a little more time.  She posted his photo online and Carla fell in love!  They drove an hour and a half to go adopt their newest family member.

Chris and Carla met at the mall in 2010 through a mutual friend.  Carla says that after two weeks of dating, they each knew they wanted to spend forever together! It just took Chris five years to propose! 🙂

These two cuties are getting married in September where Manny will be able to serve as “Dog of Honor.”

Oh I hope you all love these images as much as we all do!

Seriously! How did Manny wait a year for somebody to adopt him!?! Loooooooook at that face!
