Spring in North Carolina is made for extra sunlight, blooming flowers, kids riding bikes, and long walks with your dog.

If you are looking for meaningful ways to spend time with your pet this season, this list highlights pet-friendly events across Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and Holly Springs, many of which support local rescue organizations helping animals find loving homes.


February 18: Headshots for Hounds

This is the second year I’ll be hosting Headshots for Hounds! For $25, you can update your headshot for LinkedIn and all the money goes directly to Triangle Beagle Rescue. This event takes place at Rosecomb Beer Garden in Cary.

February 23: Branding Photography Workshop

Hosted through the Greater Raleigh Chamber, this workshop teaches business owners how to use imagery to build trust and visibility. I’m thrilled to help my fellow business owners up-level their brands with this hands-on workshop. This is open to members of the Raleigh Chamber.

March 7: Pups and Prosecco

This list of pet-friendly events isn’t just for dog lovers. Enjoy a glass of bubbly or find your new favorite wine and forever friend. Adoptable dogs from Pawfect Match will be on site at Triangle Wine Company in Holly Springs.

March 8: Meows and Mimosas

Meet adoptable kitties with Lending Paws a Hand Rescue and having a mimosa at Vicious Fishes in Cary.

March 20: Pet Remembrance Celebration

Gentle Care Animal Hospital will host a special evening of activities to honor pets we have loved and lost. This will take place at the Ten Ten Road location.

March 28: NC State Vet School Open House

Enjoy a free tour of the NC State Veterinary School in Raleigh. There are many outdoor activities for your own dog to participate in. Kids can even have their stuffed animals repaired at a Teddy Bear Clinic.

April 11: Beers for Beagles 

Head to Lonerider in Wake Forest to enjoy a pint with your pup. This annual event benefits Triangle Beagle Rescue.

April 25: Canine Field Day 

It’s like the Field Day you remember in elementary school, but designed for dogs! Activities include frisbee catch, fetch, agility courses, bobbing for treats and more.

April 26: Spring Fling at Koka Booth Amphitheatre

Hosted by Unleashed, this large community event includes adoptable pets, vendors, and dog-friendly fun. I’ll be there and you can an enter to win a complimentary pet photo session.

May 2: Bark & Bloom Mini Sessions

Spring is the most beautiful season of the year here in the Triangle. I’ll be offering a limited series of dog portrait sessions in Raleigh on May 2nd. Two spots are already filled. Grab your session spot here.

May 2: Cary Dog Daze & Pet Expo

This annual event is hosted by Cary Animal Services, featuring rescue groups, demonstrations, and pet vendors in Downtown Cary.

May 3: Racing for Rescues

A 5K and walk supporting Second Chance Pet Adoptions. Walk or run with your dog. You can event submit your pet to be this year’s race mascot and appear on the race day t-shirt.
