I love the story of how Silas and Finn found their forever family! It is so true that these amazing animals choose us and boy are we lucky they do! We had a beautiful warm sunset for Silas and Finn’s pet photo session in Raleigh. Andrea, Keith and I laughed most of the time at Silas going crazy over his ball. Finn is the definition of a gentle giant. At nine years old, he was very content just staying close to mom and dad. Here is how Andrea says they became a family:
Finding Silas
“Silas was adopted in 2012 as my first dog. Growing up, my family instilled the importance of helping animals. I always knew an adopted dog would be my first big purchase once I held a steady job. I went to the Wake County Animal Control Center to adopt a large dog and came home with an eight-pound malnourished Chihuahua mix!”
A home for Finn
“My husband and I purchased our first home in June 2016 with a ‘must-have’ of a large back yard because we were compelled to adopt a larger breed. I had seen an older dog on the WCAC website back in February 2016 and felt the biggest pull to adopt him. At the time we were in a small apartment and we just couldn’t responsibly care for him, but we followed his story and were ecstatic to see him pulled for foster. Once we purchased our home, we quickly caught up with Finn’s foster mom (thank you, Tracy!) and welcomed him into our home.”
