Three ways to celebrate Halloween without going door to door

We love Fall! From pumpkin patch visits, to pumpkin carving, Halloween crafts, neighborhood block parties, Trick-or-Treating, and chocolate chip pumpkin bread…you name it! We do it. We can still do many of those things as a family

Many families are looking for alternatives to Trick-or-Treating this year because of Coronavirus. Here are three ideas to keep the fun times and treats rolling this year no matter your quarantine preferences.

Halloween Candy Scavenger Hunt

No worrying about doing door-to-door with this easy candy-hunting adventure. Hide clues around the house, each one paired with a piece of candy. Kids will burn some energy and use their brains trying to figure out the clues and find the next one.

I created this free print-at-home Halloween Scavenger Hunt. It features nine indoor clues and nine outdoor clues. Download it for free here.

Fall Festival

For families that have joined learning pods or have a small group of families you are interacting with, this is a great way to celebrate together. Each family can bring a game or craft.

You could also host a pumpkin-decorating contest.

Here are links to a lot of easy games you can make and modify:

Country Living – Halloween Party Games

Halloween Can Game

We made these last year and now the cans are on our mantel as part of our decorations.

Witch Hat Ring Toss

We did this last year too and used glow stick necklaces from the Dollar Tree for the rings.

Halloween Movie Marathon

If you prefer to stay indoors, count down to Halloween with a movie marathon! Pick-up a special treat from a local bakery or make your own to enjoy as a family!
