Wednesday may have been an overcast day, but the air was filled with the warmth of charity! I was asked to help document a huge food delivery for shelters across North Carolina!
Ellen DeGeneres co-owns Halo, Purely for Pets and she teamed up with 16 year old Mimi Ausland, who founded Freekibble.com when she was just 11 years old, for the second annual Holiday Kibble Drop. The initiative will deliver 500,000 meals of all natural Halo Spot’s Stew to pets in need across the country. The Kibble Drop trucks will make a combined 14 stops throughout this holiday season, making food donations to 69 shelters and rescues, including many along the east coast that were impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
The Raleigh Kibble Drop location was held at Phydeaux. Rescues parked their large vans and trucks ready to load up with a generous donation of food! Here is a list of shelters in North Carolina that received some free kibble!
