We’ve been waiting on the final piece of the puzzle to complete the nursery before posting photos. However, the recliner is still on it’s way! But everything else is in place and ready for baby! So I can’t wait any longer to share these photos of our hard work!
We took our time putting everything together. It was nice and relaxed and all just came together! The hardest part, finding fabric with our colors! First, we picked out the paint color (classic silver by Behr). My parents found the crib at a store back home that was no longer going to sell nursery furniture. We got this amazing Young America Crib for half price! We found a store here in Raleigh that also sells the brand and picked out a matching dresser. The dresser that went with this particular crib was a little too ornate so we went with another collection that still matched the crib and our style! It’s very nice furniture and we figured this will be this little nugget’s furniture at least until she’s 18 so it was worth getting something that will last!
Next, we found the white and teal lamp at Home Goods and the standing lamp is from Target. I’ve had the white wall shelves since I was in high school and transferred them from my old room (since my parents have redecorated any way!) to the nursery! They are from Pottery Barn. Finally…finally…after looking on every possible website for baby bedding, I found our fabric at Joann’s Fabrics! It’s upholstery fabric and since babies aren’t supposed to have anything in their cribs, we realized we didn’t need a blanket out of the same material. I’m actually crocheting her a teal blanket that will match and we can find a nice yellow or teal blanket later when she does transition to a toddler bed. Thanks to my fabulous in-laws for coming in one weekend to make the window seat cushions and the window cornice! Our aunt made the crib skirt! 🙂 We are so lucky to have such talent in the family!
I didn’t want a mobile and had the idea of hanging lanterns from the ceiling. Wouldn’t you know it, I walked into Pier One one day and magically they had these lanterns IN OUR NURSERY COLORS! Ah! Couldn’t have been more perfect. They also had the yellow and teal “Hello Sunshine” photo frame. Funny story: I called my mom so excited about my finds. Little did I know she had already found these same things and purchased them for decorations for my shower that we could then use in the nursery! My mom knows me so well!
I found the yellow side table (currently the “library”) at Target and the yellow close-pin photo hanger is also a Pier One find thanks to my mom! The mirror was an old one we weren’t using and I painted it!
Now it’s just time to wait for the baby girl to arrive!
