What do you do when one of your best friends is engaged??? You drop everything and make sure to take her engagement photos! Also…before she gets engaged and after you move from the city where you were roommates for four years, you send a friendly “I’m watching you” email to the potential groom! Ha! The beautiful Heather and I lived together in Charleston, SC. I can’t believe it’s been TWO years since I moved. (Tear) So I know all about her. When I found out she started dating this guy Matt a little while after I moved, I just knew something was special about this match. And God Bless him because Heather has high (read: near impossible) standards! 🙂 So I had to just let this guy know that if he broke Heather’s heart, he’d have me to deal with. So I wrote him a Facebook message. Here is said Facebook message:
“Dearest Matthew. I haven’t met you yet, but I’m keeping my eye on you. Ha. Just kidding…sorta. I’m Heather’s old roommate from Charleston. She’s like a sister to me and I love and miss her dearly. Please take good care of my girl. She’s very special to me. No, she has no idea I’m writing you and she didn’t put me up to this. She and I’ve been playing phone tag lately, but she seems very happy. I love my Heather and hope you see how wonderful she is…even if she is a picky eater. Plus…if Skye likes you…you must be a keeper!” (Skye is Heather demon kitty!)
Less than a year later…he popped the question. I could not be more excited for these two. They both deserve so much and love each other so dearly. It was awesome to finally meet Matt and just see the way he looked at Heather, his eyes beaming with love. It was also so great to know that my best friend has found somebody so special and I could see just how comfortable and relaxed Matt made her feel. So here is their engagement shoot from downtown Charleston to Folly Beach.
** Special thanks to one of my other besties and amazing photographer Laura Olsen for joining us on the beach and snapping some photos of me!**
